Our Ground Chile Powders are packaged in 2 inch by 3 inch food grade reclosable bags. Price is $1.50 per packet and each packet holds between 1 and 1 1/2 Tablespoons of ground chile. These are samplers and the maximum we will sell is two packets of each variety. If you want larger quantities of Chipotle, Smoked Red Savina, and Ground Red Savina, send an e-mail and we will put you in touch with our supplier. 1/8 teaspoon of Habanero seasons most recipes.

We had these ground chiles tested for heat based on High Pressure Liquid Chromatography. The results are given in % major capsaicinoids. These are hard to relate to Scoville Units, but 1% MC = approximately 250,000 SU.

CAYENNE This brick-red powder adds color and heat to a dish, but there is not much flavor. Tested at 0.18 MC or approximately 45,000 SU.

CHIPOTLE means a smoked thick skinned Chile. Both Jalapenos and Serranos are smoked because the skin is too thick to dry without damage. This powder is ground from smoked Jalapeno Chiles. Tested at 0.22 MC or approximately 55,000 SU.

APPLE SMOKED RED SAVINA HABANERO is a great tasting variety from Jim Campbell the elder of Mild to Wild Herb and Pepper Company. Jim and I had a two week adventure in Jamaica in the fall of 1997. The Chipotle and Ground Red Savina were also produced by Jim who grows several acres of the best Chiles in Indiana. Tested at 1.68 MC or approximately 420,000 SU. (Available again!!!)

RED SAVINA HABANERO is listed with the Guiness Book of World Records as the hottest pepper in the world. Pending testing, this is believed to be about 500,000 Scoville units. Jim uses four Tablespoons in his world famous "The Bread" recipe. Tested at 1.66 MC or approximately 415,000 SU.

ORANGE HABANERO powder was ground from Chiles grown in the Tough Love Chile Co. chile patch. Tested at 1.55 MC or approximately 387,500 SU. Sold Out!!!
