Caribbean Red Habanero
This image was taken by Tom O'Hara who lives in Switzerland. The plant was grown from seed which was produced by Seminis Vegetable of Saticoy California. Seminis Vegetable is one of the largest vegetable seed producers in the world.
The plant was discovered on the Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico and was grown through several generations to be sure that it bred true. It is an open-pollinated variety.
According to Seminis Vegetable, the dried chile was tested at 445,600 Scoville Units which would make it twice as hot as an orange habanero and slightly less than the world record holding Red Savina Habanero. //Script created by Ronny Drappier, http://sipreal.com //Visit http://wsabstract.com for this script today=new Date(); y0=today.getFullYear(); // end hiding --->
